The accident occurred Friday July 10, 2015, along the Yaounde / Bafoussam highway, precisely at Banekane, in the Nde Division, West Region. A grey colored Carina E vehicle (number plate
LT175BX), ran into a bus belonging to the General Express Voyages agency. The result, five people including the driver, dead on the spot. The names of those who died are, Gilbert Nyokon (driver) 45, Chantale Tchakounte Epse Njienkwa 50, Patrice Njapom 57, Chamberlin Ndita 39 and Henriette Tendjia.

The only person to have come out alive out of the wrecked vehicle, is an 18 year old form four student of a secondary school in Yaounde, Rosine Agombeu Tchoumkeu. She was rushed to the Universite des Montagnes Teaching Hospital and is reported to have sustained only minor injuries.
According to the S.D.O for Nde division, the accident was caused by excessive speed, and carelessness.
The deceased were taken to the Bangante District Hospital mortuary.
