Their stories are same. They saw adverts like this one below.
They contacted the middle man. He promised them work in Companies, with attractive pay. The ladies then paid as much as FCFA 1.5 million to get the opportunity. The agent's suspicious behavior became a red flag when he showed up at the airport at the last minute. Gave them contracts to sign, leaving them no time to read and comprehend. By then it was already too late.
They got to the country, and were herded like sheep to an office, where buyers, yes, buyers, came and chose which girls they wanted.
Then began the horror.
Working and living conditions are worse than those of animals. Some forced to live with animals, work as many as 18 hours a day, eat irregular meals.
When the girls realized their situation was nothing other than slavery, it was only by what I would call divine intervention that they were deported back to Cameroon, with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Many left their certificates back there.
Few were able to escape, hundreds remain there, still in slavery
Girls, ladies, please beware. This is Human Trafficking. This is modern day slavery.
No use ya money, sell ya self as slave.
Parents beware, don't sell your lands to raise money to SELL your children into slavery!!
