Aftermath of Bombings: Governor Bans Wearing of Veils


            Far North Governor : Midjiyawa Bakari

The Governor of the Far North region has banned the wearing of the "Hijab" or veil worn by Muslim women. This measure is one of several taken by Governor Midjiyawa Bakari, in the wake of the double suicide bombings which took place on Sunday, to reinforce security in the region. 
The other measures include systematic checks on vehicles and luggage, ban on circulation of motor
bikes at night, ban on circulation of vehicles with tinted windows, and the ban on wearing of veils.
Governor Bakari has also called on the population to collaborate and denounce suspicious persons , and report any suspicious activity.
