Mohaman Sani Tanimou's replacement as Director General of Elections, Abdoulaye Babale, was installed today Friday July 24, 2015, at the Mont Febe Hotel in Yaounde.
The 59 year old Sani Tanimou chose to abstain from the ceremony.
ELECAM Board Chair, Samuel Fonkam Azu'u who is seen as having had the last laugh in the stand off between himself and the former D.G, while briefing the new Director General on his duties during the installation, said Babale is well aware of the state of affairs in ELECAM, adding "I am speaking to the converted".
The former ELECAM board member Babale, is expected to proceed with the installation of ELECAM Regional Delegates, whose board-approved appointments were rejected by Mohaman Sani Tanimou.
