The President of the Republic has just fired the Director General of Elections Cameroon, Mohaman Sani Tanimou.
He has been replaced by Abdoulaye Babale, who up till his appointment by Presidential Decree this evening July 21, 2015, was member of the Electoral Board of ELECAM.

Abdoulaye Babale is 69 years old, from Far North Region, and a former cabinet minister.
His 5-year mandate is "eventually renewable".
6 members of the Electoral Board have also seen their mandates renewed today by Presidential Decree.
Mohaman Sani Tanimou during his tenure as D.G openly defied the ELECAM Board Chair Samuel Fonkam Azuu.
Guess his safety net was not so safe after all.
