The Douala 5 Mayor was victim of a car accident last Saturday January 17, in Ebebda, (Center Region), on her way to her native Bafou (West Region). Eye witnesses say her driver tried to avoid a motor bike and lost control. The car is said to have somersaulted and crashed.
Mme Foning was immediately rushed to the Yaounde Central Hospital, where she was admitted to the re-animation ward. Hospital sources say she suffered a fractured leg and broken ribs, but she is said to be out of danger and is responding positively to treatment.
It will be recalled that Françoise Foning was involved in a car accident in August 2003,near Noyamos, necessitating a medical evacuation to France for intensive care.
