The 2015 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Equatorial Guinea officially kicked off this afternoon, Saturday January 17, 2015. The first match in Bata saw the hosts hold Congo to a 1-1 draw.
Burkina Faso and Gabon are currently engaged in the 2nd match of the day. So far, the Panthers of Gabon are in charge as Obameyang has just scored the first goal of the match.

A total of 16 teams in four groups will work hard to advance to the knockout stages of the competition.
A very worthwhile quest, as it has been officially announced that the winner of the tournament will get 105 million dollars (nearly FCFA60 billion). Wowzer!!

The other finalist will get 1 million $ and all the 16 teams participating in the competition will get 400 000 $ .
The Confederation of African Football, CAF also announced that the quarter-finalists will get 600 000 $ and the semi-finalists will get 750 000 $ .

CAF said that this year’s total rewards will be around 10 million dollars . This amount is still far below the rewards allocated for the World Cup ( 350 million dollars) .
