Cameroonian Bertrand Teyou Accused of Blowing Up Town Hall in France

Bertrand Teyou, pictured below, is a notorious Cameroonian writer, who lives in France as a refugee, since 2013. On Friday June 26, 2015, he was arrested by the Police in Besançon , on the suspicion of arson. The city hall was partially destroyed after an individual threw in 2 Molotov cocktails (bombs), causing a fire.

So why is Teyou the chief suspect? Keep reading...
The writer who had wanted to open his own publishing house, was frustrated at his lack of funds, and seemingly insufficient assistance. He had therefore made two sit-ins at the City Hall, just some weeks earlier, and, during the 2nd sit-in, he threatened (to the hearing of staff), to "burn down" the building. The police was called to intervene, and forcefully removed Teyou from the premises.

This is not Teyou's first encounter with the Police. On November 03, 2010, Bertrand Teyou was arrested in Douala, during the launch of his book," La Belle de la république bananière : Chantal Biya, de la rue au palais" translated in English: "The Belle of the Banana Republic: Chantal Biya, from the Streets to the Palace". He was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment or a fine of 2,030,150 CFA francs, but was freed in May 2011.
