The city of Douala has one gang less to be worried about. A band of robbers, armed with a locally manufactured gun and bullets, recently attacked a man and robbed him of FCFA 250,000 and a mobile phone.
The man, Nyembe Mbias, was said to be returning to his Bonaberi home, after work (Hopital des Soeurs, Logpom), when the robbers waylaid him. According to the judicial police report in Bonanjo, The thieves were tracked following a tip-off on Saturday December 13. The same report indicates that one of the gang members, name gotten as Jean Noel M. was trapped by a phone call, and equally was ordered by the police to call the other members on phone, lying to them that there was another operation. The rest of the gang (Lidel T, Aron E, Brancwchaw D, Eric T) was thus captured, as they immediately came to the scene, bringing with them the gun and four bullets.
They are currently in police custody in Bonanjo.
