President of The Supreme Court Retires

            

The 79 year old president of the Supreme Court, Alexis Dipanda Mouelle takes a well-deserved retirement. This is one of the most significant outcome  of the  Higher Judicial Council which met yesterday Thursday December 18. The holding of the Council has also seen the promotion  transfer, and posting of magistrates across the country. The five hour deliberations were chaired by President Paul Biya.

The members of the Council arrived Unity Palace at 10 am, alongside some magistrates whose disciplinary files were to be examined at the session, accompanied by their lawyers. Notable amongst the members of the Council was the Vice President, Mr. Laurent ESSO, Minister of State for Justice and Keeper of the Seals, as well as Mr. Jean Akame Mfoumou, the Secretary of the Council.
The Higher Judicial Council is a body that handles the careers of magistrates and higher judicial officers.

Wish he enjoys a happy retirement. It will be different without the normal routine. Sometimes retirements are challenging. Hope he enjoys a healthy life away from work and the stress that comes with the job. Good luck
