Devastating 2010 Fire Outbreak in Tiko Market
Oh no, this is just so heartbreaking. Imagine how traders would have stocked their shops for Christmas sales. Weh!
A violent fire broke out at the Street 4 end of the Tiko Market at midnight Friday December 19. The fire has ravaged 29 shops and rendered inhabitants of four houses homeless. Provisions, clothes, domestic gas are amongst the articles that were destroyed.
According to the Divisional Officer for Tiko, Patrick Che Ngwashi, the fire was caused by short circuit.
The last time such an incident happened was in 2010 when hundreds of shops were completely burnt down.
I feel so sorry for the traders.
