Nexttel Cameroon To Lose 3G Exclusivity

Mobile operator Viettel Cameroon, which trades as Nexttel, is unlikely to convince the government to agree to extend its 3G exclusivity, which will share its major asset with all of the country’s operators.

Agence Ecofin’s Beaugas-Orain Djoyum said it was time for Nexttel to reduce its call and data prices, which are the highest in Cameroon because of 3G’s better service quality. Vietnamese-owned Nexttel has been in business since September 2014.

The country’s established operators are MTN, Orange and in fixed and wireless, Camtel.

i dont use nexttel but from d infos i gathered from its customers their 3g is not different from 2g.i really think mtn and orange would do better if they are also given the go ahead to launch 3g.
