I Knew My Relationship Was Over When My Ex Said...

When he/she said it, you just knew. You just knew it that words like that coming from your partner's mouth spelled doom for your relationship.
Huffington Post compiled the following sentences by separated and divorced readers which made them know that their relationship would end in heartache.
Feel free to add yours if you've ever been through a break-up. Who hasn't?

1. "After being in labor for 16 hours to give birth to our 10-and-a-half pound son, my ex says to me, 'Millions of women give birth, what makes you so special?'"

2."He actually said, 'I love you but I'm not in love with you.'". Read more...

Homeless Cameroonian Shot By LAPD, Who Was He?

Here's a report by CNN on the homeless and yet to be identified Cameroonian man, shot on Skid Row, in Los Angeles, by police officers. Seems like he was a guy with a good heart, whose head was messed up by drugs. Sad on all counts.

No one knew him by his real name. Do any of you recognise him?

Surveillance footage, police and homeless community activists paint wildly different pictures of the man — one who could be violent, benevolent, troubled and altruistic.
But on the harsh streets of Skid Row that became his home, he was known as Africa.
Africa was shot and killed by Los Angeles police Sunday after he scuffled with officers. The shooting, caught on video, has renewed accusations of police brutality because it showed him already

Revealed: Why Men With Girlfriends/Wives Still Check Out Other Women

Ever wondered why men in relationships still check out other women?
Then look no further for your explanation.
Because American 'academic' Dennis Prager tells Mirror Online that men look at other women simply because they are 'other women'.
According to the President of Prager University in America, the good news is that while most males are excited by other female forms, it doesn't mean they are dissatisfied with their own partner.
And the bad news? Even men in happy relationships will still find some women more attractive than their own girlfirend.
"He wants you, and if he does, all those other women don't amount to a hill of beans."

Spectacular Pic of Bird Fleeing From Hungry Mammal, On Its Back

Lol, I know this ain't news, but this pic caught my fancy. It was fight, or flight.

This stunning picture shows a brutal mid-air battle between a hungry weasel and woodpecker fighting for its life.
The remarkable encounter was captured yesterday by photographer Martin Le-May at Hornchurch Country Park in east London.
He spotted the baby mammal eyeing up its next meal before pouncing on the colourful bird.
Martin told Buzzfeed: "Just after I switched from my binoculars to my camera the bird flew across us and slightly in our direction; suddenly it was obvious it had a small mammal on its back and this was a struggle for life.
"The woodpecker landed in front of us and I feared the worst. I guess though our presence, maybe 25 meters away, momentarily distracted the weasel.
"The woodpecker seized the opportunity and flew up and away into some bushes away to our left. Quickly the bird gathered its self respect and flew up into the trees and away from our sight."

The pair rolled around on the grass before the woodpecker managed to take flight - with the weasel on its back.
Seconds later it managed to escape and the pint-sized weasel ran off to find a more suitable meal.

Fallen Hero: Captain Matute Elvis Mbene's Last Talk With Dad

Captain Matute, is one of the country's valiant Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR)soldiers, fallen in the line of duty. He hailed from Fako Division, South West Region. The 33 year old died on February 25, 2015, along the Mora-Limani road, in the Far North, when his car exploded, after his driver and himself, drove on a land mine, planted by insurgents.RIP While reading about him online, I came across this story by the Standard Tribune . Its an interview in which his dad recounts their last phone call. It's one of the most emotional stories I've read in a while. May God give his grieving parents, and all grieving families, the fortitude to bear the loss. Keep reading...

The Vice President of Sierra Leone, Sam Sumana, has put himself under quarantine after one of his body guards died.I'm watching BBC World news right now, and Vice President Sumana is quoted by BBC correspondent Umaru Fofana, as saying his action is a way of "leading by example", and he does not want to put anyone under risk. He has placed himself in a 21-day quarantine.
That's a true leader there.
This Ebola Virus Disease, is just something else. When everyone begins to see a ray of hope at the end of the tunnel, that's when a worrying surge in the disease resurfaces in Sierra Leone.
With 10,000 lives claimed by Ebola in one year, the disease was on the decline recently. However, 99 new cases were confirmed by the W.H.O weekly report for the region during the week before February 22,2015. Sadly 63 of them are from Sierra Leone.

The May 20 Boulevard in Yaounde like you have never seen it before. Lt. Col. Didier Badjeck, I see you.
This is the march championed by the press, to show support to the troops, and against insurgency.
The build-up to this march generated quite some controversy. Many asking when journalists became activists, or why do a copy-cat march, rather than concrete actions like donating blood, for example.
Regardless, the march garnered a lot of support, as you can see from these pictures. Continue...
