Dayas Mounoume, former Director General of the Douala Ports Authority, has been sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. The verdict was pronounced yesterday, Friday July 03 2015 by the Special Criminal Court in Yaounde.
Mr Mounoume was one of four people accused of embezzling FCFA 458.4 million from the Douala
Ports Authority. The former Director General, who was sacked in 2012, is reported to have been whisked from his home in Bali, Douala, immediately the sentence was pronounced. He will serve his sentence at the Yaounde Central Prison.
