Three alleged Boko Haram members suspected of being the brains behind the suicide bombing that killed 15 people and wounded 80 in the central market of N’Djamena on Saturday, were arrested Thursday morning in the Cameroonian town of Kousseri , security sources disclosed.
The three suspects, whose origin or circumstances of arrest have not been disclosed, are currently being questioned by specialist services as alleged sources affirm the jihadist movement was preparing to hit Cameroon.
Thus, roadside checks have been strengthened throughout in the country, especially in the capital Yaoundé where night patrols have increased since the beginning of the week.
On Saturday a twin attack attributed to Boko Haram killed 13 and wounded 7 in Fotokol border town with Nigeria.
Meanwhile, according to reliable sources, a World Food Program (WFP) contracted truck loaded with over 29 tons of food for Nigerian refugees was ambushed last Friday on national highway No. 1, located in the area.
The attackers escaped after seriously injuring the vehicle attendant who however continued his trip to Kousseri under heavy escort.
