I Have A Problem And I Need A Solution

I have a problem.
I sometimes get up in the middle of the night.
When I need to pee, or can't sleep, or want to watch tv.
Problem is, most of the time when I get up, I hear these creaking noises. It's coming from upstairs. It's coming from my neighbor's bed. My neighbour's Appartment is just above mine, and his room is just above mine. The noises are those of a spring bed or something like that because it's always squeaking.... I don't have to,spell it out do I?
My problem is, should i, or should i not tell my neighbour that he needs to change his bed because the sound of his night time activities are reaching my room? If yes, how dem di do talk dat kind ting for person?
Thats my problem.
Abeg i need real answers.
(N.B: He's an important representative of some foreign organsiation and he isn't married).

This is terrible and horrific i have first of all laugh out my lungs before commenting because i have gone through this similar situation. It is very difficult to call the persons attention because since your neighbours are the most important persons to you telling them will make them very uncomfortable and nervous when they meet you on the way. So the solution is you just need to absord the shock and if possible put some light music to distract yourself

Forgive all of us who laugh before responding because it's really worth it dear. The precedent respondent gave a good suggestion. It's good you sleep with some light nonstop music. Sorry about that. Seriously it's not easy to approach someone on that sensitive issue.

I can see you are a regular visitor of Stella DimokoKorkusblog. Trying to bring her chair style here right? I love originality besides, Cameroonian blogging should be different from Nigerian blogging or don't you think so? Do your own thing and stop copying from people.

Look anonymous, did you see this story on that blog? See me see trouble!!
I wrote this based on MY PERSONAL experience. And it was all in good fun, a light-hearted piece to make readers smile. And you tell me I copied someone's style?
Pls provide me to the link where you found this on that other blog, and I WILL TAKE BACK ALL THE WORDS I HAVE UTTERED TO YOU.
Rubbish.
I work hard on this project, juggling my time at work, spending a fortune on Internet connection. I will not tolerate comments like yours.
I like to think I'm a nice person, but do not tempt me.

Moit, I think anon was referring to Cani's comment about the chair. I may be wrong though.
Anon, clarify yourself. And even if it was in reference to Canisia's comment, c'mon: live and let live. So what if she borrowed a comment? Gimme a word or phrase which is authentic these days. U find a word somewhere which u like, you use it as much as you want. Ain't nothing wrong with that!

Most Africans including all chocolate persons have a similar sense of humor. though I didn't state the Stella comment. but you often hear stuff like under belle cush.. Black Americans will say hit below the belt.. I can quote alot of instances. Black American's will say you tried that.. Afrique will say you try me

I have heard aunties say make i shidon hear weti they go talk about this matter.
It all depends on our perspectives on how we look at things. so please stop chastising the blog commentator.

Copying is another form of flattering. We all will be wearing the same clothes if someone wasn't inspired or copied another.

now to the problem at hand. you need to read your tenancy agreement. And also maybe go to the citizens advice bureau who will guide you to the right literature. you see there are standards a house has to maintain for the peace of the tenants.

I know for instance it's by law you have to have double glazing windows. So when you shut your windows you don't get disturbed by noise from outside. I also know that there is a requirement for the walls of the house so each room contains noise within. Yes we abide by laws. All of these is in the UK. Ask a builder or architect. Meaning the house isn't up to standard. Good luck with your research don't forget to share the information.
1st complain to the landlord
if he/she doesn't compile then go on your research and present the proof on the standards he/she has to meet. document and email.

Grace of God be with you.

Wow, that's a very elaborate solution. God's grace be wiv u too. Thanx, n for the other answers too.
More solutions are still very welcome oh, but I'm must say the soft music proposal by Angie sounds very appealing, even though in this case, it'll have to be slightly loud music

You are welcome Moity.

Yes, some councils send reps to inspect these building standards are met (private or gov't). Some councils even install noise thermometer (that's in council halls I have seen this instrument with bold letters stating noise thermometer). yes that extreme.

Grace of good speed.
