Government Promises Constant Provision Of Anti-Retrovirals

The minister of Public Health Andre Mama Fouda has announced that government will not relent in providing free anti-retroviral drugs to sero-positive persons, even when the current stock of anti-retroviral drugs is exhausted. He was speaking today during activities to commemorate World AIDS day, today December 1.

It should be recalled that there have been incidents where HIV patients in the past have decried the
unavailability of anti-retrovirals, when the drugs run out of stock.

He also re-echoed the need to shun practices which could be seen as stigmatisation. The national HIV prevalence rate is 4.3%.
This year's theme is "Zero new infections, Zero deaths".

HIV...gives me the shivers still. Pray for those who have it, cos most of them didn't do anything worse than the rest of us. They were just unfortunate
