Updated
At least 19 people were killed in a suicide bombing in the northern Cameroonian town of Maroua on Saturday, a local military commander said, just three days after twin bombings there suspected to have been carried out by Boko Haram.
Residents said the female bomber struck at a bar in the Pont Vert neighborhood, close to a bridge crossing a river that runs next to the town, at around 7.50 p.m.

In the wake of the explosion, which was heard across the capital of Cameroon's North Region, military and emergency services poured over the scene in search of survivors.
A senior military officer in Maroua told Reuters at least 19 people had been killed and 62 injured in the attack.

Kenyan President To Obama: Gay Rights is "Really a Non-Issue" in Kenya

Kenya's Uhuru Kenyatta is the second African President in less than two years to reject any consideration of gay rights, as favored by U.S President Barak Obama. Last week, Nigerian President Mohammadu Buhari told Obama during a state visit to the U.S that sodomy is against the law in Nigeria.
Barack Obama who is on a visit to Kenya for the first time since becoming President, spoke strongly against discrimination today at a news conference. Uhuru Kenyatta on his part said Kenya does not share the same views. He described gay rights as "really a non-issue" in Kenya, adding that the country's priorities are in areas "that are day-to-day living for our people".

Breaking News: New Explosion In Maroua

A fresh explosion has hit the town of Maroua this evening.
Reports say the bomb exploded in the Pont Vert neighborhood.
It is not clear if it was a suicide bombing. I just spoke with someone who says the attack happened right before his very eyes. He was drinking with friends when a very violent explosion occurred.
There is no word yet as to casualties.
Will bring you updates as I get them.
