Police Na Your Friend!

I found this write-up on Cameroon Tribune and it's quite interesting. It's on the efforts made by the Cameroon Police Force to improve on its image and service to the nation. Enjoy:

Both police authorities and the government have been taking steps to give the corps a better public perception.
There is no gainsaying that the Cameroon Police has over the years lost its credibility for several reasons, the most outstanding being allegations of corruption and extortion of money from members of the public. In order not to allow the image of a corps so important in ensuring the safety and security of citizens to continue to be tarnished, both the leadership of the police and government have been taking steps to correct the situation.
These include improving service conditions for men and women in the force. Not only have service cars been acquired for police officers, pick-up vans and mini-buses have similarly been provided to police units to step up patrols and track down criminal suspects. Such vehicles are often distributed at

Hundreds of Homes Demolished in Ghana to Prevent Repeat of Floods

Given yesterday's flooding in some parts of Douala, should such a move be envisaged here??? What are your thoughts?

Ghana was the scene of a doomsday scenario on June 3rd and 4th when parts of the capital experienced horrific floods which were worsened by an explosion at a gas station. The floods conveyed the burning fuel, killing 96 people.
Now, President John Mahama's government has decided to tackle the flood menace by demolishing hundreds of homes and businesses in the Sodom and Gomorrah neighbourhood (what a name). This

Woman Carries Pregnancy for 50 Years

Wow! The things we see and read. A Chilean woman got the shock of her life when she went to hospital and was informed by doctors that she was carrying a calcified foetus for the past 50 years.
Chilean media say the woman, who is at least 90, went to hospital in the city of San Antonio after a fall.

The phenomenon, known as a lithopedion, occurs when

Power Outages Affecting Cameroon's Economy

The power outage or load shedding issue is just something else. It seems to be worse in some parts of the country than others. Before I left Yaounde, close to 2 weeks ago, it was bad, I tell you. We would be without electricity for a whole day , every other day.
Now, according to this report by VOA, our economy is taking a hit.

Huge consignments of goods — some destined for landlocked countries like Central African Republic, Chad and Sudan — have been stockpiled at the Douala seaport for more than six weeks.
Cameroon lawmakers are asking for investigations even though the main energy supplier said poor rainfall is to blame.
Cameroonian lawmaker Walang Richard said his country is hurting – and that he is pressing for a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the unreliable power supply.
“If you look at the country today, everybody is crying. We have a giant water project that we are putting on. But immediately the light goes off, there is no water. These are things that are really creating problems,” Richard said.
“Take for instance, children who are struggling to write exams and they are reading. Suddenly the light goes off. How do you get a candle by 1, 2, 3 o’clock a.m.?” he asked.
30 percent on the grid.

Want Amazing Hair Growth? Try This Super-Nutritious Homemade HairConditioner

Yesterday I posted a story on my transition from relaxed to natural hair. It's wonderful and I would encourage you to try it out. But. It wouldn't make any difference to your hair if you do not follow up with hair treatment.
Conditioning your hair is a MUST.
Now, there are 2 types of treatments. Moisture treatments, and Protein treatments. Both are essential for your hair. A Protein Treatment is a treatment containing one or more protein-based ingredients that is used to strengthen and revitalize the hair.
A Moisture treatment provides balance to offset the usually drying effects of protein treatments.
I will break down what both treatments do for the hair in greater detail, but that will be for another day. Another post.

Today, I'd like to share with you a treatment I use for my natural hair. It's actually a combination of protein and moisture treatment. I love it, cos its super rich, and you can get some of the ingredients, right in your kitchen. Remember in my post on my natural hair yesterday, I wrote about kitchen concoctions? This is one of them. I came up with this home-made conditioner because, I had some of the ingredients available, and I did research on each of them, and found out how useful and amazing they are. So, here goes.
They are
